Microsoft Outlook 2007
(May vary with different versions):
To add one of the above buttons to your email signature, right click on the image you choose, and save to your desktop, or another easy-to-find location. Then, in your Outlook, go to Tools > Options > Mail Format tab. You should see “Signatures” as a section here. Click on the “Signatures” button. Click “New” to start fresh. Next, you’ll want to click the "picture" icon and browse to find the button image you saved. (The picture icon appears as two gray mountains with an orange sun).
Once it is added, you are going to want to make it linkable. The link you need is: http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases/
Once you have copied the link from above, go back to editing your email signature. To make your button link, you’ll want to click on it inside the signature, and then click the "Insert Hyperlink" icon. (This icon appears as a globe with a chain link next to it.) The “Insert Hyperlink” edit box will open, and you’ll notice a white “Address:” bar. Place your cursor here and “paste” the URL from the above directions. Once you have done this, click “OK” to save your changes. Your email signature is complete!
Microsoft Entourage 2008
(May vary with different versions):
Entourage does not yet support adding a URL to an image. So there are two ways to go about adding one of the above blog buttons to your Entourage signature.
- Add the image and paste the full URL next to it or underneath it.
- Link the image in Microsoft Word and bring it over into Entourage. (NOTE: you have to do this each time you wish to send an email).
First, you'll need to download the button image of your choice to your computer by either right-clicking to "save image as" or by dragging it to your desktop.
To add the button and full URL:
From Entourage: Go to Tools > Signatures. A new window will pop-up showing you're current signatures. Make a new signature by clicking on the green circle icon with the plus sign located in the top left hand corner. In the signature window that pops up, give your signature a name. Then click in the text box below and go to Message > Insert > Picture. Browse to where you saved the image on your computer, select it and click "choose". Your image will now show up in your signature box. Then cut and paste this URL after your button: http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases (Hit return after your button if you'd like the URL to appear below it instead of next to it). Because you've placed the entire URL, Entourage will automatically recoginize it as a link and make it clickable for you. When your signature is complete, go to File > Save. Your new signature is now available and can be chosen from the "signatures" dropdown within a new email.
To add the linked image utilizing Microsoft Word:
Open up Microsoft Word and go to Insert > Picture > From File. Browse to where you saved the image on your computer, select it and click
"insert ". Your image should now appear in your Word document. Click on your image to select it and go to Insert > Hyperlink. In the window that pops up, copy this URL into the "link to" box: http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases. Make sure the "Webpage" button is selected and hit "ok". Now that your image is clickable go to File > Send To > Mail Recipient As Html. Entourage will automatically open a new email message with your linked button attached. Compose your email and send! As noted above, the only drawback to this method is you'll have to preform this last step from Word each time you want your clickable button to appear in your email. Save your Word document so you don't have to recreate it each time.
